For students starting Avonbourne Girls' Academy in September 2024

Once you have been offered a place at Avonbourne Academy, we will email a letter welcoming you and your daughter. If you haven't received this email, a copy is posted below. Please contact us using the email address above to let us know your email address.

Welcome Letter

Our Admissions Data Forms will be sent out week beginning TBC to the email address you used when applying for a secondary school place. If you have not received this by TBC please contact classof2031@avonbourneacademy.org.uk

As mentioned in the Transition Day letter above students will be given an 'All About Me' transition booklet when our colleagues visit them in their primary schools. Visits are taking place throughout June so please do not panic if your daughter does not have one of these yet! If she was given one on her visit and this has since been lost, you can download and print one below or alternatively collect one from our reception team but please be assured visits are continuing right up until the week of transition day and a hard copy will be handed to them!

Parent Pay

Parents/carers will receive a letter from our payment portal 'Parent Pay' during mid-late August. Please check your junk mail if you haven't receieved this by the end of August.

This will give you details of how to sign up to our payment portal. We are a cashless school.

Students who receive Free School Meals will have £2.50 added to their account each day (this does not roll over). 50p is available to use at break time and £2.00 if available to spend at lunch or alternatively the full £2.50 at lunch

Getting ready for September...

We know lots of parents (and students) will begin getting everything together over the next few months ready for September.

Our uniform can be purchased from Stevensons in Southbourne.

Before purchasing any items (including school shoes, school bag and equipment) please refer to our detailed Uniform Policy as although some items may be advertised as 'Back to School' they may not be acceptable at Avonbourne Academy.

Stationery

Students are required to bring a 30cm clear pencil case with them each day with the following items:

Compulsory Items:
30 cm long, clear plastic pencil case
Helix Maths Set (or Compass and Protractor)
30 cm ruler
Translucent reading ruler
Casio FX-83GTX calculator
3 x blue or black pens
1 x HB pencils
4 x coloured highlighters
1 x white board pen
1 x green pen 

Recommended Items:
Coloured pencils
Rubber
Pencil sharpener

Cashless Catering

In the Summer Term you wull be posted a letter which details how to sign up to our Payment Parent Portal.

We are a cashless school and do no accept cash on site.

If students wish to purchase food from our canteens, parents/carers must have added payment to their account. Students will have their biometric finger print taken on either the transition day or first day in September.

At morning break we have the following items on sale:

Croissants  50p

Pizza slices made with homemade tomato sauce and cheese 50p 

Bacon Rolls £1.10

Sauage Rolls £1.00

Wraps , Rolls made to order from £1.00

Bread rolls 30p 

Butter, Jams, Sauces 10p

Drinks from 50p 

At lunch time we have a weekly menu (please click here for the current menu) alongwith subways, jacket potatoes and pasta with a variety of toppings/fillings.
